Default Alive support

Email [email protected]. The person who reads it made the game, so a bug report goes straight to the person who can fix it.

What to include

  • Your iPhone model and its iOS version.
  • The version and build number. On the beta, TestFlight shows both under Default Alive, for example 0.1 (11).
  • The game week, at the top right of the screen.
  • What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
  • A screenshot, if there is something to see.

Feedback on the beta

On the TestFlight beta, a screenshot is the fastest way to tell me about a problem:

  1. Take a screenshot while the game is on the screen.
  2. Tap the thumbnail. Mark it up if you want to, then tap Done.
  3. Tap Share Beta Feedback, add a comment, and tap Submit.

To send feedback without a screenshot, open TestFlight, tap Default Alive, and tap Send Beta Feedback. If you joined through the public link, TestFlight does not show me your name or your email address. Fill in the email field if you want a reply.

If the numbers look wrong, send your run. Press and hold the strip with your cash and runway to open the tester menu, then tap Send my run. The share sheet opens with three files: your save, the app's state, and every move you made. Email them to [email protected]. The ending screen has the same button.

Questions

How fast does time pass?

In the garage, a game month takes about five seconds at normal speed, and the garage pauses when you leave the app. After the seed round, the company runs on a real clock. One real day is three months (13 game weeks), whether the app is open or not, so a game week passes about every 1 hour 50 minutes.

How many notifications will I get?

At most three a day, and none from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. in your time zone. The game asks for permission when you start the clock. Your iPhone schedules the notifications itself, and no server sends them. To turn them off, open Settings, then Notifications, then Default Alive.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no sign-in and no password, and the game never asks for your name or your email address.

How do I start a new company?

When a run ends, tap Start a new company. A new install also starts a new company.

What happens to my company if I delete the app?

The save is on your iPhone, so deleting the app deletes the company. I do not have a copy, so I cannot restore it. If you install the game again, you start a new company.
