It is seven at night, the dog's tablet was due at half past six, and the only real question is whether somebody else in the house already gave it. Pet Med Reminder is built to answer that in one glance, from the phone in your hand.
What it does
Medication apps assume the patient can tap the button. A dog cannot, so every part of this one is written for the caregiver instead. Today shows the doses due, grouped by pet, and a given one gets struck through where everyone can see it. History records two times for every dose, the one it was due and the one it was actually given, because those are different facts and only one of them tells you whether the treatment is going the way the vet expects.
It handles more than pills. Supplements, dental treats and anything else that runs on a cadence go in the same place, since in practice a household schedule does not sort itself neatly into medical and non-medical. The first thing it ever tracked was a weekly dental treat for a cat, which is why the data model accepts one.
Monthly doses, given late
Flea, tick and heartworm treatments are the ones people miss, and the failure is specific: you give the dose four days late, the app keeps reminding you on the old day, and by the third month the schedule and the animal have come apart. Here the schedule re-anchors to the day you actually recorded it, so being late costs you those four days and nothing after them.

For households giving a dog or a cat something on a schedule: a daily tablet, a twice-daily thyroid dose, a monthly flea, tick or heartworm treatment, a supplement, or a dental treat every seventh day. It suits several pets with several items each, and it suits more than one person doing the giving.

Questions
Does it handle things that are not medication?
Yes. Supplements, dental treats and anything else on a cadence go in the same list, because a household schedule does not sort itself into medical and non-medical.
Can two people in the house both use it?
It syncs through your own iCloud account, so it follows you across your own devices. Marking a dose given on the iPad shows on the iPhone.
What happens when I give a monthly dose late?
The schedule re-anchors to the day you actually gave it rather than the day it was due, so a flea or heartworm dose given three days late does not drag the next eleven reminders out of sync.
Does it know about drug interactions or dosing?
No, and it should not. It records what your vet told you to give and when it was given. Dosing decisions belong with your vet.
Can I show my vet what was actually given?
Yes. The history exports as a PDF covering the range you pick, with the scheduled time and the logged time side by side.
